The moderate climate of Atlantic breezes from the Straits of Gibraltar and the soft Mediterranean breezes temper the sun. The microclimates produced by the beautiful peaks and valleys of the terrain mean that there are no extreme weather conditions. You can be pretty sure of getting to play when you plan to! This is why various European PGAs have chosen the Costa del Sol as their headquarters and the first European Ryder Cup to be celebrated outside of the United Kingdom. In many of the golf clubs there are excellent golf schools. Other sports and activities include tennis, horse riding, sailing, water parks, safari parks etc.
