October date for San Pedro tunnel

After a wait of over 15 years the start of the project to build a tunnel on the A-7 (old N-340) as it passes through the notorious San Pedro de Alcántara bottleneck is about to begin. The plans were presented this week in Marbella by the Minister of Public Works, Magdalena Álvarez, before a large audience of local people.

Spanish resorts building up to a Costa del Disney

Both the Manilva Town Hall and the multinational Disney company hope that the educational theme park, which will take up 20,000 square metres of land, will be funded with private investment.The principle of the idea has support from the Junta de Andalucía’s education department, whose department head, Francisco Miguel Alvarez, said that, while nothing is concrete yet, ‘the four fundamental elements are a reality.’: the land area, the finance, the town planning requirements of the plot, and the Disney name. Lots of property owners in the Manilva area are now getting very excited over this whole project. Whatever Disney are planning to do in the area it will certainly have a major impact on tourism in Manilva.

House prices continued to show signs of a gradual slowdown in the second quarter of this year, but the country's massive property boom seems far from having run its course, according to figures released Wednesday by the appraisers association Tinsa.
